Verizon Small Business Email And The 9 Benefits Of Life In The Clouds by Mishu Hull For small business, being on Cloud 9 is sure helped by the 9 benefits of working with Verizon small business cloud computing. Those benefits include and exceed the email applications. 1. Keep down your costs. Initial investment is always a challenge for start up. The cloud addresses this head on, since there's no need to buy or maintain servers, routers, and related equipment. 2. Scale up as you grow. Buying your own equipment presents the danger of technological lock-in. Once you've bought it you're stuck with it, whether it's appropriate to current conditions or not. Neither a fickle economy nor the usual ups and downs of small business prevent you from tailoring and adjusting your IT plans as the economy changes and your business evolves. 3. The insurance of endurance. For many small businesses the permanent loss, destruction or malfunction of one single laptop could spell disaster. And, even for those not so precariously perched on the technological precipice, an unforeseen disaster, like a fire or flood, could wipe-out your documents and records and, in the process, your business. Store your email contacts and other vital documents in the cloud for priceless insurance against disaster. Soon as you're back online you're back in business. 4. Collaborate better than ever. Imagine your employees able to collaborate on the key documents for a rapidly approaching deadline. And as bonus, they can do so in real time, from anywhere. Working through the cloud makes it easy to do. 5. Flex your techs. Your employees and yourself will be able to access vital documents, and reply to email, using a variety of convenient devices - including those trendy handheld ones. 6. Increase your security. Dramatically! Top cloud providers like Verizon small business email services provide vastly superior security from sabotage and theft. Left to their own devices, for most small business, this level of security is way beyond their means. Benefit from the advantages of pooled resources, for the same reason you join a group health care plan. 7. Work force mobility. Reduce costs through employee work-from-home arrangements or with contract workers. Or, perhaps your business requires much travel in the field. In either case, working through the cloud keeps everyone connected, even when they're on the move. 8. Top drawer software features. If your small business can't afford the top shelf software programs, with all the bells and whistles, you may be sacrificing important and profitable functionality. It's not necessary. Economies of scale allow cloud clients to employ top drawer software for what turns out to be a fraction of the cost. Love those economies of scale! 9. Rethink retraining. If all these great benefits have you pondering what will be the hidden costs to retrain your staff for cloud computing, think again. Your employees have nothing new to learn at all. Saving a document, doing Excel calculations, preparing a PowerPoint presentation or composing an email, on the cloud, is exactly the same click and point experience with which they're already familiar. Okay, I know that I said there'd be 9 benefits of the cloud, but I can't resist throwing in a bonus point: 10. It's fantastically cool. And I'm thinking, when you add it all up, that counts for something. For more information about Verizon small business email service and whether it's the ticket for you, check out this article.
